Wohlmuth ist eine deutsche Mathematikerin mit dem Forschungsschwerpunkt numerische Simulation partieller Differenzialgleichungen und Inhaberin des Lehrstuhls f\u00fcr Numerische Mathematik an der Technischen Universit\u00e4t M\u00fcnchen (TUM). Wohlmuth erhielt ihren Masterabschluss in Mathematik 1991 von der Universit\u00e4t Joseph Fourier in Frankreich, 1992 erwarb sie ihr Diplom an der TUM, wo sie auch 1995 bei Ronald Hoppe promovierte, bevor sie im Jahr 2000 an der Universit\u00e4t Augsburg habilitiert wurde. Nach neun Jahren als Lehrstuhlinhaberin an der Universit\u00e4t Stuttgart kehrte sie 2010 an die TU M\u00fcnchen zur\u00fcck. 2012 wurde ihr der Leibniz-Preis der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft verliehen. Seit 2013 ist sie Mitglied der Bayrischen Akademie der Wissenschaften. 2018 hielt Barbara Wohlmuth beim Internationalen Mathematikerkongress einen Vortrag zur numerischen Analyse und wissenschaftlichem Rechnen. Seit Dezember 2019 ist sie Mitglied des Wissenschaftlichen Beirats des HITS.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Barbara I.
