{"id":31750,"date":"2019-03-20T16:56:36","date_gmt":"2019-03-20T15:56:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.h-its.org\/karriere\/computational-biology-cbi-group\/"},"modified":"2025-02-26T13:08:34","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T12:08:34","slug":"computational-biology-cbi-group","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.h-its.org\/de\/forschung\/computational-biology-cbi-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Computational Biology (CBI) Gruppe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Im Februar 2013 nahm die neue\nJunior-Forschungsgruppe \u201eComputational Biology\u201c (CBI) unter Leitung von Dr.\nSiegfried Schloissnig ihre Arbeit am HITS auf. Das Augenmerk der CBI-Gruppe lag\nauf seltsamen Lebewesen mit atemberaubenden Eigenschaften: Die Gruppe\nbesch\u00e4ftigte sich mit dem Erbgut von Salamandern und Plattw\u00fcrmern. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Siegfried Schloissnig und seine Gruppe entwickelten\nam HITS neue Ans\u00e4tze f\u00fcr die sogenannte \u201eDe-novo-Assemblierung\u201c, die\nRekonstruktion von Genomsequenzen mit Hilfe von DNA-Sequenzierger\u00e4ten und\nbioinformatischen Methoden. Beim Sequenzieren nach heute \u00fcblichen Methoden wird\ndie DNA mehrfach kopiert. Die Kopien werden dabei zuf\u00e4llig in viele kleine\nFragmente aufgesplittert. Diese Fragmente werden durch bioinformatische\nMethoden auf \u00dcberlappungen untersucht und dann wieder neu zusammengesetzt. Je\nkleiner die Fragmente und komplexer das Genom, desto schwieriger wird das\nProblem. Noch schwieriger ist es, wenn kein vergleichbares Genom vorliegt und\ndie Forscher das Genom aus Sequenzen \u201ede novo\u201c, das hei\u00dft: neu zusammensetzen\nm\u00fcssen. Wie zum Beispiel bei Plattw\u00fcrmern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nach fast f\u00fcnf Jahren intensiver Forschung gelang es Dr. Siegfried Schloissnig und seinem Team, gemeinsam mit Kollegen aus Dresden und Wien, das Genom des <a href=\"https:\/\/www.h-its.org\/de\/2018\/01\/24\/cbi-axolotl-de\/\">mexikanischen<br>Salamanders Axolotl<\/a> und des Plattwurms<br>Schmidtea mediterranea zu entschl\u00fcsseln. Beide Tiere sind wichtige Organismen in der Regenerationsforschung. Die Forschungsergebnisse wurde im Fachjournal \u201eNature\u201c ver\u00f6ffentlicht und erreichten eine hohe Medienresonanz.
