Ihr Arbeitskreis am MPIP tr\u00e4gt den denselben Namen: &#8222;Molecular Biomechanics.&#8220; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mpip-mainz.mpg.de\/de\/graeter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.mpip-mainz.mpg.de\/de\/graeter<\/a>  Gr\u00e4ter und ihre Gruppe arbeiten nach wie vor eng mit HITS-Forschenden zusammen, insbesondere mit der<a href=\"https:\/\/www.h-its.org\/de\/groups\/mli-de\/\"> MLI-Gruppe<\/a> (Leitung: Jan St\u00fchmer).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proteine \u200b\u200bsind st\u00e4ndig mechanischen Kr\u00e4ften ausgesetzt. Kraft \u00e4ndert die Dynamik und Reaktivit\u00e4t und reguliert die Funktion von Proteinen. Das Hauptinteresse der Gruppe Molekulare Biomechanik besteht darin zu entschl\u00fcsseln, wie die Natur Proteine entworfen hat, um spezifisch auf mechanische Kr\u00e4fte in der zellul\u00e4ren Umgebung oder au\u00dferhalb der Zelle zu reagieren. Unser Ziel ist es, neue molekulare Kraftsensoren lebender Organismen zu entdecken und deren Innenleben zu entschl\u00fcsseln. Unsere Forschung konzentriert sich auf Proteinmaterialien, Mechanoenzyme und ungeordnete Proteine, wobei aktuelle Beispiele Kollagen, den von Willebrand-Faktor und die Fokale Adh\u00e4sionskinase umfassen. Unser Ziel ist es, eine schl\u00fcssige Antwort auf die Frage zu geben, wie mechanische Kr\u00e4fte lebende Organismen auf der Ebene einzelner Molek\u00fcle beeinflussen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Gruppe Molekulare Biomechanik ist eine stark interdisziplin\u00e4re Gruppe, die sich aus Physikern, Chemikern und Biologen zusammensetzt. Wir nutzen und entwickeln verschiedene Computer-gest\u00fctzte und theoretische Methoden auf verschiedenen L\u00e4ngen- und Zeitskalen, unter anderem molekulardynamische Simulationen, Monte-Carlo-Techniken, Quantenchemie, maschinelles Lernen und bioinformatische Ans\u00e4tze. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In j\u00fcngerer Zeit f\u00fchren wir auch biophysikalische und biochemische Experimente durch, um unsere rechnerischen Vorhersagen zu validieren. Vor Kurzem haben wir ein hochmodernes Labor am &#8218;Centre for Advanced Materials&#8216; (CAM) in Heidelberg eingerichtet, das ein brandneues elektronenparamagnetisches Resonanzspektrometer (EPR) beherbergt und Zugang zu anderen CAM-Einrichtungen bietet.
