Kira Feldmann<\/strong>, Doktorandin in der Computational-Statistics-Gruppe am HITS, hat beim \u201eExtremes Symposium 2014\u201d der VolkswagenStiftung in Hannover einen Posterpreis gewonnen. Sie und drei andere junge Forscher aus Potsdam, Hamburg und M\u00fcnchen wurden aus 21 Bewerbern als Sieger ausgew\u00e4hlt. Kiras Poster hatte den Titel \u201eSpatial postprocessing for forecasts of temperature minima and maxima<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das Symposium unter dem Motto \u201eExtreme events: Modeling, Analyses, and Prediction\u201d<\/a> konzentrierte sich auf mehrere Forschungsprojekte, die von der VolkswagenStiftung gef\u00f6rdert werden. Die Schl\u00fcsselbereiche waren Geo-, Umwelt-, Klima- und Lebenswissenschaften und mathematische Statistik. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt lag auf verbesserten Methodologien und ihrer Anwendung auf Probleme aus der realen Welt.
