PhD positions (m/f/d) in the Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (MLI) group

The Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence group is a newly founded research group that works on the theory and development of novel algorithms for machine learning. The research focus of the group is on data-efficient learning methods with better generalization properties, on interpretable representations and latent discovery, and on geometric deep learning with applications in the natural sciences and medicine. Ultimately, we would like to gain insights into how to train better deep learning models and in interpreting their results.

Your role

The PhD student will carry out research and development on the theory and application of novel machine learning algorithms and models. Possible research topics include:

  • Learning Theory
  • Geometric Deep Learning
  • Meta Learning
  • Interpretability
  • Variational Inference
  • Contrastive Learning
  • Causal Inference
