We are looking for a
Senior Communications Manager (m/f/d)
Your Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in managing and coordinating both internal and external communications, grounded in the institute’s mission and strategic framework.
- Primarily oversee press and public relations, along with event management and internal communications, for an international, interdisciplinary research institute.
- Work closely with the directorate to develop innovative science communication formats that strategically position HITS on both national and international stages.
- As part of the events team, you will co-lead the conception, planning, and execution of scientific conferences, workshops, and public outreach events.
- As part of a succession plan, you will be prepared to assume the future leadership of the Communications department, directly reporting to the management.
Your Qualifications:
- A passionate interest in scientific topics ranging from molecular biology to astrophysics.
- Familiarity with the latest trends in communication, particularly in relation to artificial intelligence.
- Experience in building professional networks and sustainable relationships with target groups in the scientific community.
- A collaborative, solution-oriented team player with a minimum of five years of professional experience in science communication.
- Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.

- A permanent full-time contract with the option of up to 50% remote work.
