Several papers accepted

Several papers by NLP group members have been accepted at upcoming 2019 conferences and workshops.

The paper “Fine-Grained Entity Typing in Hyperbolic Space” by Federico Lopez, Benjamin Heinzerling, and Michael Strube will by presented at the 4th RepL4NLP workshop on 2 August at ACL 2019.

Mehwish Fatima and Mark-Christoph Müller participated in the FinSBD shared task on sentence boundary detection in douments from the financial domain, and Mehwish will present “HITS-SBD at the FinSBD Task: Machine Learning vs. Rule-based Sentence Boundary Detection” at the FIN-NLP workshop at IJCAI 2019.

The demo paper “Off-The-Shelf Semantic Author Name Disambiguation for Bibliographic Data Bases” by Mark-Christoph Müller, Adam Bannister (zbMATH) , and Florian Reitz (dblp) has been accepted at TPDL 2019.

About HITS

HITS, the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies, was established in 2010 by physicist and SAP co-founder Klaus Tschira (1940-2015) and the Klaus Tschira Foundation as a private, non-profit research institute. HITS conducts basic research in the natural, mathematical, and computer sciences. Major research directions include complex simulations across scales, making sense of data, and enabling science via computational research. Application areas range from molecular biology to astrophysics.
