HITS Independent Postdoc Program

The HITS Independent Postdoc Program offers a great opportunity for highly talented young scientists wanting to transition from PhD student to junior group leader. It supports young scientists in exploring their own ideas and testing new hypotheses. The HITS Independent Postdoc Program is set for 2 years with the option for a 1-year extension. High-risk, high-gain projects are encouraged.

Keep your eyes open for the annual call. You can find more information on the HITS Independent Postdoc Program here.

Starting a junior group at HITS

We welcome young scientists that would like to start their own independent research group at HITS with external funding such as an ERC Starting grant or a DFG Emmy Noether grant. HITS offers a dynamic workplace without disciplinary boundaries and a number of benefits to complement the external funds. This renders HITS a particularly attractive institution for your independent research group.

Please get in touch with the Scientific Director and learn more about the specific benefits of HITS as a host institution: scientific.director@h-its.org

Researchers who are interested in joining one of our research groups for some time or would like to work on a certain research project with us, are invited to join HITS.

Learn more about the research at HITS and directly contact the corresponding group leader.

Klaus Tschira Guest Professorship Program

The Klaus Tschira Guest Professorship program aims at enhancing scientific exchange and collaborations. To this end, we invite internationally renowned scientists to HITS for sabbaticals or other extended research stays. Varying from 3 weeks to 6 months duration, the program gives plenty of flexibility to arrange your stay at HITS with your research at your home institution.
