Victoria Stodden, Member of the HITS SAB

Victoria Stodden is a statistician and associate professor at the Daniel J. Epstein Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at the University of Southern California. She is a leading figure in the area of reproducibility in computational science, exploring how can we better ensure the reliability and usefulness of scientific results in the face of increasingly sophisticated computational approaches to research. Her work addresses a wide range of topics, including standards of openness for data and code sharing, legal and policy barriers to disseminating reproducible research, and scientific publishing practices.

She joined the HITS Scientific Advisory Board in December 2019. From 2022-2024, she served as its Vice-Chair. At the beginning of 2025, Victoria received a Humboldt Research Award from the German Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. To avoid any conflict of interest, her membership in the SAB was temporarily suspended.

In February 2026, Victoria Stodden resigned from her position.
